Founded in the sunny landscapes of Tenerife in August 2015 by the illustrious Latonius Earl, this choir embarked on a spiritual journey under the direction of its charismatic founder. After five years in Hamburg, Germany — the place Latonius calls home — he felt inspired to bring the soul-stirring essence of American Gospel to the Canary Islands with the same passion and Christian devotion that had shaped his journey in the U.S. and Germany.

In a world eager for authentic Gospel, Latonius recognized the need for a choir that truly represented and respected its spiritual roots. He introduced Gospel music in a unique and relatable way, offering audiences a deeply moving and authentic experience. His mission was clear: Without God, Gospel music becomes mere spirituals, but through the Latonius Gospel Choir, he would preserve its true essence. His dedication to this vision quickly propelled the choir to become one of the most prominent ensembles in the Canary Islands, performing frequently and becoming the most sought-after choir at the prestigious Gospel Canarias Festival.

Despite the challenges brought by the pandemic in August 2021, the choir demonstrated unwavering resilience and an indomitable spirit. In September 2024, Latonius revitalized the choir, bringing together both former members and new voices to embark on an exciting musical journey. This revival was so powerful that it led Latonius to return home once again, expanding the choir’s influence with the creation of «Latonius Gospel Choir Hamburg» in September 2025.
